Compared to American, I guess Japanese thinks devorce is more really serious problem.
It is because they care how others think about them if they devorce.
They also care how others treat their children if their parents divorced.(they are afraid of being bullied.) because of this, many people decide to devorce when their children grow up.
When I was in the U.S., I was living with my host family for a semister. my host father is a step father. and Many waseda friends who was also studying in the U.S. and living with host family said their host family adopted a child, they devorced, marry again, or something like that.
